There are a lot of reasons behind the "silent" disease called obesity. But most people who suffer from this "hidden" disease would only refer to food as the primary culprit. They should realize that there are a lot more predisposing factors that causes obesity.

Of all the reasons that we fail to lose weight, why blame food? Food per se is not the problem. In reality, there are more important factors why we over indulge ourselves even though we know that we should not.

3 Reasons Why People Fail To Lose Weight

1. People lack the motivation to lose weight. They gain the extra pounds because of eating more than what they need for energy or they are burning "too few" calories because of a slow metabolism. They know that they need to exercise to burn those calories but they are simply too lazy to do so.

Changing our attitude and developing a psychological "need" to lose weight will improve our exercise habits. I know it's easier said than done but we should keep in mind that moderate exercise is a major factor in losing weight and keeping it off.

Having a powerful will to get up every morning to work on shedding the few pounds through exercise. Motivating ourselves to health is easier said than done but it is the only way we can start a diet program, stick to it, so we can keep that fat off.

2. We fail to lose weight because of our eating habits. Sometimes we are just too busy and forget about lunch and eat only when we feel the hunger pangs. Then we indulge on food and this is the time that our insulin levels shoot up.

3. Negative emotions. Emotions like nervousness, guilt and the feeling of failure, just to name a few, probably causes 95% of the reason why people overeat. They are trying to relieve the anxiety that they feel through elemental satisfaction.

Anybody who wants to lose weight can overcome these problems and prevent it from keeping them achieving a healthy lifestyle if they find a diet plan that can fit the lifestyle that they are most comfortable with and without too much fuss. However, that idea is too good to be true. So, just keep in mind the important equation to achieve a healthy and fit life, motivation plus right diet plan equals weight loss.
