Home gyms can be one of the best investments you can make or can wind up in the garage taking up space for years. Before buying a home gym, there are several considerations you need to make to insure you get a return on your investment.
First, consider all the home gyms available on the market today. Some are very simple band resistant gyms and there are the complex gyms with various multi-workout stations. Some small, some large and complex.
To save yourself buyer's remorse after purchasing a home gym, the following may be of help:
1. Are you planning on exercising certain muscle groups or the entire body? This is important as some home gyms target just the upper body and others the whole body.
2. What type of space do you want to dedicate for a home gym. Some home gyms can be folded leaving a smaller footprint. Other home gyms can take up a small garage.
3. If you are use to working out with weights, consider buying a plate loading home gym. If you are use to working out with machines, consider home gyms with weight stacks that are adjusted with a pin.
4. Remember too, the more moving parts a home gym has the greater for break downs over time. Cables and pulleys are notorious for wear over a given period of tie.
Compare prices of all types of home gyms before making a decision. But more important is the return on investment you are expecting. If you will be using the home gym 3 to 5 days a week it would make financial sense to buy an upper-end home gym.
